Meet the Team
Since starting a water filtration company out of his garage at the age of 25, James’ mission has been to spread the word to as many businesses as possible that there is a better way to hydrate than purchasing bottled water.
“From humble beginnings and a pallet of 9 water coolers in my garage, to now thousands in the field, we have come a long way. I take pride having started out this way, from knocking on doors every day to now being able to take on more of leadership role.”

During his off time, he enjoys surfing, travel and spending time with his wife Katie and their two young children Savannah and Charlie.
Katie Margolles is Co-founder and CFO. Katie is excited to expand on her passion for the environment and sustainable hydration with Stratus. When she’s not crunching numbers you’ll find Katie snorkeling, boating, hiking and traveling with her family.
Charlie has been in Santa Barbara since 2016 with experience in marketing and sales. He joined stratus as our Santa Barbara Sales Representative in May. With a degree in Environmental Horticulture and sustainability, he is truly passionate in finding ways to conserve water and help the environment while building relationships with a likeminded community.
In his off time, he enjoys fishing at Lake Cachuma, weightlifting, and spending time with his friends and family.
Meet Claire! Claire majored in Communication Studies at CSUN and loves working with people to find creative solutions—especially when it comes to helping the environment. Claire started her journey at Stratus Hydration early this year, where she applies her passion for sustainability to bring innovative hydration solutions to our community. In her free time, Claire enjoys taking walks, practicing needlepoint, and shopping at Homegoods.
Dave, our dedicated Service Manager, was born and raised in Santa Barbara. He loves working with his hands and takes pride in delivering top-notch customer service. Whether he’s handling installations or solving service issues, Dave always goes the extra mile for our clients. Outside of work, he enjoys playing pinball and spending quality time with his family.
